All-Weather Board Care: How to Store, Cover, and Clean Your Boards
Protect Your All Weather Boards with a Cover
The easiest way to keep your CornholeAce boards looking sharp is a fitted cover for regulation 2-ft x 4-ft boards. Choose a light-colored cover only (white, light gray, or tan). Skip black or dark covers, which trap heat and can stress the playing surface.
Thanks for choosing CornholeAce. Your all-weather boards are built to handle real games in real conditions, and a few simple habits will keep them looking and playing like new for years. The most important one is easy: when you are not playing, keep the playing surface out of the sun and weather by bringing your boards indoors or covering them.
What "All Weather" Means
"All Weather" means you can play in the rain and set your boards on wet grass or damp ground without worrying about them. Water will not ruin a game, and you do not need to pack up the moment clouds roll in.
What it does not mean is that your boards should live outside. All-weather play is not all-weather storage. Constant sun, heat, and exposure between games wear down any playing surface over time, even one built for tough conditions.
Where These Boards Are a Good Fit
CornholeAce All Weather boards are suitable for backyard, casual, and league play with proper care. Commercial use in public places where players are not typically used to caring for cornhole boards, such as bars and similar venues, is not recommended. Damage from misuse or improper care in those settings is not covered. These boards are not rated for rental fleets or party-rental inventory.
How to Protect Your Boards When You Are Not Playing
When the game is over, you have two good options:
- Bring them indoors. A garage, shed, basement, or closet is perfect. Store the boards flat or standing on edge somewhere dry and out of direct sunlight.
- Cover the playing surface. If your boards are sitting outside between games, like over a weekend cookout or a backyard tournament, put a cover over the playing surface so it is not baking in the sun.
Either way, the goal is the same: protect the surface whenever the boards are not in use.
A Quick Note About Your Warranty
Your boards come with a 1-year warranty, and we want you to get the most out of it. Leaving boards outdoors and uncovered when they are not being played is considered improper care. Fading, surface wear, and other damage caused by that kind of exposure is not covered under the warranty.
The good news is that this kind of damage is easy to prevent. Store your boards indoors or keep the playing surface covered, and you will be in great shape.
Choosing a Cover
Not every cover will do the job well. Here is what to look for:
- A fitted cover made for regulation boards. Look for one designed for 2-ft x 4-ft cornhole boards so it fits snugly and stays put in the wind.
- A light color only. Choose white, light gray, tan, or another light shade. Do not use black or dark covers. Dark colors absorb and trap heat, which can be hard on the playing surface sitting underneath.

Everyday Surface Care
A little routine care goes a long way:
- Expect some normal wear. White or unprinted PVC surfaces can pick up dirt and light scuffs over time. That is normal with regular play.
- Lightly sand with 600-grit sandpaper. For scuffs or stubborn marks, gently sand the area with 600-grit sandpaper using light, even pressure. Wipe away the dust with a soft, dry cloth when you are done.
- Keep it gentle. Do not use solvents, harsh chemicals, or a pressure washer on your boards. They can damage the surface and the finish.
What Not to Do
Your boards are built for bags, not people. Please do not stand, sit, or step on them. Putting body weight on the playing surface or frame can cause damage that is not part of normal play.
