Included Parts (for both boards)

  • Battery/charging port (battery port) + screws
  • LED strip (wraps around the inside perimeter of the frame)
  • Light ring (mounts around the hole)
  • Controller (changes colors/modes)
  • Splitter (connects both the ring and LED strip)
  • 3M adhesive cable brackets (wire management clips)

Tools You’ll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver (or drill/driver with a Phillips bit)
  • Only if your board does NOT have the routing hole shown in the video: Drill + 1/2" drill bit

Step 1 — Pre-test your light kit (recommended)

Before mounting anything, test all components to confirm everything powers on and stays synchronized.

  1. Connect the controller to the battery port.
  2. Connect the splitter to the other end of the controller.
  3. Plug the LED strip and light ring into the splitter.
  4. Insert the battery into the battery port and turn the switch ON.
  5. Press Mode on the controller and confirm the strip and ring cycle colors together.
  6. Turn the battery port OFF, remove the battery, and disconnect everything.

Step 2 — Install the battery port

  1. Position the battery port on the underside of the board.
  2. Align it centered between the hole and the first frame support (as shown in the video).
  3. Secure it using the included screws (battery port uses 3 screws).

Step 3 — Route and mount the LED strip around the frame

A) Feed the strip through the routing hole

  1. Feed the LED strip through the top routing hole in the frame (the location shown in the video).
  2. Wrap the strip all the way around the inside perimeter of the frame.

Important: Keep the LED strip cable on the opposite side of the board from the battery port cable.

No routing hole on your boards?
Use a 1/2" drill bit and drill two overlapping holes in the top center frame, in the same location shown in the video, creating an opening large enough to pass the LED strip through.

B) Adhere the strip and install the strip brackets

  1. Once the strip is positioned, begin peeling the 3M backing from the LED strip (peel slowly so the adhesive stays on the strip).
  2. At the first corner, install a bracket to prevent lifting:
    • Install a screw inside the bracket first.
    • The very next screw goes on the outside of the bracket (as shown in the video) to lock the strip down.
  3. Keep the strip tight to the frame at 90° corners and along frame supports, adding brackets at the locations shown in the video.
  4. After the handle area, install the next bracket in the middle of that frame section.
  5. Continue until the LED strip is fully adhered and secured around the entire board.

Step 4 — Install the light ring

  1. Center the light ring evenly around the hole.
  2. Install the screws using a cross pattern (one screw, then the screw directly across, then the remaining screws).

Step 5 — Mount the controller and connect the system

  1. Identify the controller ends:
    • The 2-prong side must be on the same side as the battery port (battery port is 2-prong).
    • The other end is 4-prong.
  2. Peel the adhesive backing and stick the controller to the board.
  3. Plug the controller’s 2-prong end into the battery-port side.
  4. Plug the splitter into the other end of the controller.
  5. Connect the outputs:
    • Plug the light ring into one splitter output.
    • Route the remaining cable cleanly and plug it into the LED strip.

Step 6 — Test again before final wire management

  1. Insert the battery and turn the battery port ON (white typically appears first).
  2. Press Mode and confirm the ring and strip change colors together.
  3. Turn the battery port OFF and remove the battery.

Step 7 — Secure the cables with 3M adhesive brackets

A) Secure around the controller

  1. Apply one bracket on each side of the controller (two total).
  2. Orient each bracket so the closed end faces you (helps keep cables from slipping out when the board is flipped).
  3. Press and hold each bracket for a few seconds to set the adhesive.

B) Secure the battery-side cable

  1. Use three brackets:
    • One in the middle of the run
    • One closer to the controller
    • One closer to the battery port

C) Secure the splitter / ring-side cables

  1. Place a bracket on one side of the splitter and another bracket on the other side to hold both cables down.
  2. Place the final bracket near the light-ring cable area.

Important: Do not place a bracket directly under the battery location. Angle the bracket slightly off to the side so the battery won’t catch on it.

Step 8 — Reinstall the leg brace & finish

  1. Reinstall the leg brace (if it was removed).
  2. Your light kit installation is complete.
